The goal is straightforward: label each batch, log it when it ships, follow it through cleaning and inspection between shows, and pull damaged pieces from the count, so the deployment number attached to your inventory is one you can point to instead of estimate.

Why tile instead of broadloom

Modularity is the substance of the argument, not a detail. Booth footprints change from show to show, and tile reconfigures to a new plan without recutting a roll. Broadloom that is cut down for a 10x20 is difficult to use again at a different size, which is how usable carpet quietly leaves the rotation.

Damage behaves differently too. A spill or a forklift scuff takes out one tile, not a floor. Replacing a single tile keeps the rest of the deployment in service and keeps attrition to a small fraction of each order rather than a full write-off.

CarpetDiem is a supplier, not a labor competitor. General contractors keep the show-floor work exactly as it runs today: their crews, their schedule, their jurisdiction. We handle the tile and the cleaning and inspection cycle between shows, and we are building the documentation layer that will follow it.

That division matters practically. Nothing about the install workflow has to be renegotiated as tracking comes online.

Cost and disposal, realistically

Pricing depends on booth square footage, how many shows are in the program, and location. The economics improve across cycles rather than in a single event: tile that deploys repeatedly spreads its cost over many shows, and tile-level replacement means a damaged area costs a few pieces instead of a new floor.

Disposal is not zero, and we do not claim it is. A share of tile is retired each cycle from damage and wear. Once CarpetDiem Track is live, that share is meant to be known and reported rather than estimated after the fact. Carpet recycling programs in states like California also make end-of-life a line item worth tracking rather than ignoring.

Color and appearance

Tile is available in a range of popular colors such as beige and dark gray, which cover most booth programs. Those neutrals hide foot traffic, photograph cleanly, and sit under any booth design without fighting it. Neutral tile also lets exhibitors bring their own color through graphics and runners instead of demanding a custom floor.
